Presented by Wicklund Elementary and the WSF Inclusion Committee

Did you know that disability affects approximately 61 million, or nearly 1 in 4 (26%) people in the United States living in communities? Disability affects more than one billion people worldwide! Many students at our school are living with a disability. Inclusion week is dedicated to building awareness, acceptance and appreciation of children with disabilities of all kinds!

Dress Up Days 

Monday - “Light it Up Blue” for Autism Awareness.  Wear as much blue as possible!

Tuesday - World Down Syndrome Day! Pull UP for DOWN syndrome! Pull on a pair of mismatched socks!

Wednesday - Jeans for Genes!  Wear jeans for genetic disorder awareness! 

Thursday - ADHD is a big “peel”! Wear orange for ADHD awareness!

Friday - Be a hero, be inclusive! Dress up like a Wicklund Hero!

Collaborative Art Project - Teachers will be given one puzzle piece print per student to decorate to reflect who they are individually. You can do this in class or as homework. The pieces need to be returned to the front office by Friday the 24th.

Art Contest - Theme “What does inclusion mean to me?” Students submit their artwork by Friday, March 24th in the office. Artwork will be exhibited at a designated spot in the school with the top 3 art pieces from TK-1st, 2nd-4th, and 5th-8th grade featured prominently.  ONE WINNING DESIGN will be featured on an exclusive inclusion T-Shirt! Guidelines: One 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.  We welcome all mediums that are compatible with paper.
