TENTATIVE REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: DOWNLOAD PDF HERE

This is subject to change due to unforeseen conflicts.

Please take time to review the schedule and when various parts are attending.  If a student accepts a role, they will be expected to attend each and every rehearsal they are called for.  If a student has other commitments that will make attending on time and all the time, we advise not auditioning for the show.

Auditions:  August 11th through 15th

Audition sign-ups are now open!  Below are the steps for registering and what comes next.

  1. All Wicklund students interested in being part of the show MUST register for a Group Audition session online.
    • The sign-up can be found HERE. You will need to be logged in AND YOUR STUDENT MUST BE ACTIVE before you can access the sign-up. If you do not have an account, you must create one.  If you haven’t updated your account, you must do so or your student will not show as active and the forms will not present for you.
    • All students must participate in a group audition, which requires learning one song and a small piece of choreography on your own.  Materials are online.
  2. Students in 4th Grade and up may choose to also register for a Role-Specific Audition slot.
    • Students in TK-3rd Grade wishing to audition for a leading role will need to provide a teacher recommendation attesting that the student is a strong and independent reader capable of memorizing lines and lyrics quickly and is consistently well-behaved, needing little to no redirection.
    • If a student does not meet these minimum requirements or prefers to be in an ensemble or smaller role, do not register for one of these limited slots.
    • If a student has limited availability and cannot attend every rehearsal, do not register for one of these limited slots.
    • A student may register to audition for up to two roles.
  3. Complete the Headshots & Additional Information form by August 10th at midnight.  This form is included in the audition packet HERE.  You will need to be logged in AND YOUR STUDENT MUST BE ACTIVE before you can access the sign-up. If you do not have an account, you must create one.  If you haven’t updated your account, you must do so or your student will not show as active and the forms will not present for you.
  4. Opt-in to the Wizard of Oz Auditions communication list HERE.  Any updates or announcements regarding auditions will be sent only to those who are on this list.
  5. Prepare for auditions and arrive no more than five minutes prior to your scheduled audition session for check-in.

Audition Prep Material:  Group Auditions

Everyone wishing to be in this production must participate in one Group Audition session.  To prepare for that audition, you must learn the song below.  It is expected that you have the song memorized prior to the audition.

Audition Prep Material:  Role-Specific Auditions

These are the only specific roles we are doing dedicated auditions for.  If you are interested in a role that isn't listed here and it's something other than an ensemble part, we encourage you to pick a role that is similar to the one you want and go for it!  You have the opportunity on the Headshots & Additional Information form to share your hopes and dreams and concerns.

If you are in TK through 3rd grade, you may not register for one of these auditions unless you have already submitted a recommendation from your current teacher attesting that the student is strong and independent reader capable of memorizing lines and lyrics quickly and is consistently well-behaved, needing little to no redirection.

If you do not want any of the featured roles, you should not to participate in Role-Specific Auditions.

If a student has limited availability and cannot attend every rehearsal, do not register for one of these limited slots.

Below are lines for each part and a song to prepare.  If two sets of lines are listed, you need to memorize both.  Sheet music and audio tracks, both with and without lyrics, have also been provided.  It is expected that you have the lines and song memorized and can sing the song without sheet music and to the performance track, without lyrics.

For these roles, we are looking for actors who can portray the very distinct personalities for each persona.  We are looking for those who have developed a character with vocalizations, facial expressions, body and hand movements, and someone who can use the space given.
