Welcome to the 8th Grade Community page!  On this page, you will find everything you need to keep up with all that’s being planned to celebrate our 8th Graders’ time at Wicklund and promotion to high school!  Check back frequently and watch for newsletters and announcements.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

  • 8th Grade Promotion Pictures:  April 12th
  • 8th Grade Dinner Dance:  May 10th from 5:00 to 8:00  
  • Class Trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom:  May 17th
  • 8th Grade Promotion:  May 21st at 5:30 Please Note:  The number of tickets each family will receive has yet to be determined.

TO-DO LIST FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS

  • 8th Grade Fund Balances:

    All of the 8th Grade end-of-year activities are paid for by the families.

     

    - Those who donated money during Splash-a-Thon at the beginning of the year have been told how much they still owe.
    - Those who volunteered at the 8th Grade Booth during Splash-a-Thon have been notified how much they earned toward their $175 portion.  To find your balance due, simply subtract your credit from $175.
    - If you donated and volunteered, you were emailed you remaining balance after everything was taken into account.
    - All remaining families (those who did not pay via Splash-a-Thon or raise money volunteering), have an outstanding balance of $175.
    - All balances are due March 1st and must be paid online via the Wicklund Elementary School Store HERE.

     

  • 8th Grade Class Gift Suggestion Form: 8th Grade Students — it’s time to send in your suggestions for your parting gift to the school!  Suggestions will be accepted through January 31.  Voting will begin on February 1 so that a decision can be made, as it impacts the budget. SUGGESTION FORM HERE.
  • Promotion Gowns:  This year we are going with a single color gown.  Everyone will be wearing SHINY BLACK gowns.  Use this link https://www.graduationsource.com/adult-shiny-gown-only.html to purchase.  Families are responsible for purchasing a gown for their student. All orders are due by March 22nd. *You are welcome to use previously purchased BLACK gowns.
  • Official 8th Grade Class Shirts & Hoodies:  The official class shirt and hoodie are now available for purchase.  This is also a fundraiser and all proceeds will be used to help pay for the cost of the class trip, the dinner dance, and promotion activities.  Orders ship in batches, roughly every 15 days, to your home.  Order yours now — https://www.bonfire.com/8th-grade-class-shirt-amp-hoodie/.
  • 8th Grade Dinner Dance Committee:  We need three parents to take the lead on planning and executing the activities associated with the 8th Grade Dinner Dance. SIGN UP HERE.
  • 8th Grade Promotion Decorations Committee:  We need three parents to take the lead on planning and executing the activities associated with the 8th Grade Promotion Decorations.  SIGN UP HERE.
